With each release of Vertica, you always (and rightly so) look forward to improving machine learning capabilities and new analytical features to help you in the process of intelligent analytics. Although Vertica 10.1.1 now includes support for the latest version of PMML, 4.4, some new useful features and a new machine learning algorithm are much more interesting in this release.
Vertica 10.1.1 includes limited Vertica availability in Eon mode in the Microsoft Azure cloud. Some of Vertica’s largest customers have already signed up to test Vertica in Eon functionality in Azure storage.
And with this release, Vertica is officially launching beta support for containers and Kubernetes – which is known to be the de facto standard for orchestrating containers with a high degree of scalability and flexibility for container programs.
Deployment flexibility will always be one of Vertica’s core architectural principles. And with this support, you now have another option for cloud deployment.
